Oscar Out of the Box has been especially written for KS1 class worship and is a partner resource for Jack in the Box which has proved so popular with children in the Reception class.
Each assembly follows the familiar pattern: Welcome, Learn, Reflect, Respond and as Oscar the Owl ‘flies’ out of the box he invites children to become involved in each part of the worship journey. Oscar provides a bird’s eye commentary on the Bible stories which have been brilliantly retold by international storyteller Bob Hartman. Prayers, with simple responses that the children can join in with, complete the worship.
Oscar Out of the Box complements Roots and Fruits 1 by providing 2 acts of worship for each of the 12 values in that publication, however it is also suitable for use as a stand-alone resource.
